PicoSAR is an all-weather sensor that can provide photograph-like images through clouds, rain, or fog, day or night. PicoSAR is a smaller, lighter and more power-efficient version of a traditional Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) system. PicoSAR is deigned primarily for military purposes, but civil usage is also possible.
PicoSAR supports GMTI and MMTI operations and can be used to cue other sensors like infrared/optical cameras. PicoSAR provides sensor fusion capabilities.
PicoSAR can also be used for SAR interferometry. PicoSAR is designed for use in low-altitude UAVs and manned platforms. PicoSAR has a weight of 30 kg, including three antenna panels (45 cm) of 15 cm each. PicoSAR offers state-of-the-art technology at X-band, with Active Phased Array. scalable Antenna Technology. The operating modes PicoSAR supports are stripmap, spotlight, forward- and side-looking enhanced ground moving target indicator, across- and repeat-pass interferometric SAR.
ZoomSAR: 0.3 to 1 m resolution in strip map mode; 0.05 m in spotlight mode withat least 1 km swath in high resolution. Swath of PicoSAR can be increased, at the expense of resolution.
Minimum Detectable Velocity (MDV) of 3 km/h with 0.7 km/h accuracy.
Simultaneous SAR and MTI capability.
